The annual Barsi Semagam, held from 30th December 2016 to 2 January 2017, went exceptionally well with tens of thousands of well-wishers attending the 4-day event. Although it was held in the midst of winter, the weather was co-operative, with daytime temperatures in the warm range - much to the delight of everyone!

As in past years, the event included a number of activities, such as kirtan darbars, Amrit Sanchar, gatka performances, horse-riding showmanship by Nihangs, a Kabaddi competition, a mela for the general public, and the fully-sponsored-marriages of 65 couples from disadvantaged families. It is the event of the year for the people of Sarhali, where everything comes to a near stop and the place takes on an air of festivities - as people near and far commemorate the life and work of the much-loved Baba Tara Singh ji and his immediate successor, Baba Charan Singh ji.

This year, visitors were also surprised by the scale of the organisation, including the refurbishment of all surrounding areas, which were beautifully tiled, with walled partitions for various sections of the facility. This helped to significantly reduce dust levels and provided people with a comfortable walking environment.
