Punjab is facing a calamity due to widespread flooding caused by the opening of a dam and rains. 700 villages are submerged, 4000 hectares of crops have been completely destroyed, another 24,000 hectares submerged; countless cows, goats and other livestock drowned. Several people have also been swept away. In some areas, even after 2 weeks, up to 8 feet of water remains. The waters stink of rotting animals etc and diseases are widespread . Villagers have lost everything and daily meals have to be cooked and sent to them by boat. Baba Sukha Singh ji of Sampardai Kar Sewa Sarhali Sahib have been out everyday with hundreds of volunteers helping those affected. 

Besides the distribution of rations, Baba ji and numerous volunteers have also been busy making sandbag water barriers to help channel the flow of flood waters. As of 4 September, more than 300m have been completed.

ਸੰਪ੍ਰਦਾਇ ਕਾਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਤਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਸੁੱਖਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਸਰਹਾਲੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵੱਲੋ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਲੰਗਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਂਵਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਹਨ। ਬੀਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋ ਪਿੰਡ ਸਰੂਪਵਾਲ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੁਲਤਾਨਪੁਰ ਲੌਧੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਹਾੜ੍ਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਾਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਵੱਲੋ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਥੇ ਯਾਅਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਟਰੈਕਟਰ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸੰਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ, ਓਥੇ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਲੰਗਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
